AVON HELLO TOMORROW FUND

Vote now and help change women’s lives- forever!

The competition that helps transform women’s lives is back! The Avon Hello Tomorrow Fund and Glamour Magazine have teamed up again to find inspirational projects that create a better tomorrow for women across the UK.

With £30,000 on offer, we have been inundated over the last few months with amazing ideas that could help change women’s lives forever. Our judging panel of leading ladies, Avon’s Senior Vice President, Anna Segatti; Glamour’s editor, Jo Elvin; Apprentice ace Karren Brady and TV presenter Claudia Winkleman, had a tough time selecting our shortlist from stacks of entries. However they finally selected our six finalists who are still in with a shot of winning one of three £10,000 grants for their not-for-profit project.

Now it’s time to play your part and help make their inspirational ideas a reality! It’s up to you to decide this year’s winners, so what are you waiting for?!

Belle Turner, Aberdeen

As a single mother and fully trainer barrister, I know it’s becoming more and more difficult for women to gain the legal advice and support they so desperately need. I want to set up a website where single mothers can access free legal guidance and practical advice about how to deal with difficult decisions as a lone parent. READ MORE...

Hayley Bisofsky, London

Slavery was abolished over 200 years ago, yet the trafficking of women for sexual exploitation still goes on today. I’m passionate about bringing hope, restoration and significance to the female survivors of this horrific crime, so that they can choose a future free from sexual torture and physical abuse. Sophie Hamer, Exeter

I’m still affected today by the rape I experienced three years ago. I want to set up a secure and confidential 24hour help service through national charity Rape Crisis, so women who have suffered sexual violence can access long-term support, often when they need it the most. READ MORE...

Shona Ulyatt, Nottingham

One in four pregnancies in the UK end in miscarriage, yet there is very little support for the women who suffer the traumatic experience of losing a child. I hope to set up an emotional and practical advice service to help women rebuild their lives after suffering a miscarriage. READ MORE...

Viv Southorn, Hereford

Women with learning difficulties are too often stared at and treated differently because of their seemingly unfashionable clothes, dated hairstyles and ‘odd’ makeup. I would like to set up a project to teach them about these girly things, which the rest of us all take for granted, so that they become less isolated and more independent and confident in their daily lives. Jane Smith, Somerset

Having supported two of my own children through eating disorders, I’ve personally experienced the anguish and heartache a mother faces as her children suffer. There is a lack of support services to help families and I want this to change. I’m passionate about helping other mothers and hope to develop a befriending service in order to make this happen.
